Question 857322: Find the domain of the function. (Enter your answer using interval notation.)
g(x) = ln(x − x^2)
A spectrophotometer measures the concentration of a sample dissolved in water by shining a light through it and recording the amount of light that emerges. In other words, if we know the amount of light absorbed, we can calculate the concentration of the sample. For a certain substance, the concentration (in moles per liter) is found using the formula
C = −4000 ln(I/I0)
where I0 is the intensity of the incident light and I is the intensity of light that emerges. Find the concentration of the substance if the intensity I is 40% of I0. (Round your answer to two decimal places.)

Question 860114: I have the following question which I need to answer but don't quite know how to do because we have not covered it at all. It is as follows:
"The page layout of a new mathematics book is being designed. Each page is to have a top and bottom margin of 3cm and left and right margins of 2cm. If the printed area inside the margins must be 200cm^2, find the expression for the area of the entire page (including the area of the margins) in terms of the full width of the page. What is the domain of this function? What sort of function is it (cubic, quadratic or..?) HINT: for the last part of the question, you may need to put two terms over a common denominator."
I need to do a small drawing apparently. Can someone please show me the answer for how to do it? Much appreciated and thanks in advance!!!

Question 860599: Hello,
Can someone please help me find the domain of this rational function?:
f(x)= x((6x+176)/x-4) [or f(x)= (6x^2 + 176 x) / (x-4) in "simplified" form].
All I understand about a domain is that it is all the values of 'x' for which f(x) is a real number.
I don't really understand domains when doing rational functions, so help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank-you!
