Question 714235: This deals with average rate of change. I got answers but I have a feeling that they are not correct. Any guidance would seriously be appreciated.
f(x)=x^2+x
Determine the AROC of f from any number x to any number x+t.
So when I worked it out I got 2x+t
I got suspicious that this was incorrect after I did the second problem:
Find the AROC of f from 3 to 7
I got 10 as an answer for that.
These are the same answers as the previous problem which we went over in class and I doubt he was give us two question with all four parts having the same exact answers so I must be doing something wrong.
I am frustrated. Any help please? :)

lim x--> positive/negative infinity f(x) = 0
lim x--> 2 from the left f(x) = infinity
lim x--> 2 from the right f(x) = infinity

Question 715563: A rectangular stage is being built next to a smaller square stage. The length of the rectangular main stage is three times the side length of the square stage. The width of the rectangular stage is twice the square stage's side length.
How can I write "r(x)", a function for the area of the main rectangular stage?
How can I write "b(x)", a function for the total area of both stages?
I know that the smaller stage's area would be x^2 and that this could help me write a function for the other one. But how?

Question 716457: What would the range and domain be for the function f(x)=(x+2)/(x^2-9)?
Also, for the range would you be able to say all real numbers since the function does cross over the horizontal asymptote?
