You can put this solution on YOUR website!
IF YOU MULTIPLY THE FIRST EQUATION BY 1/2 WE GET
-3X/2-1/4Y=10/2 NOW ADD THE SECOND EQUATION THUS:
5X+1/4Y=8
------------------------------------------
-3X/2+5X=10/2+8
-1.5X+5X=5+8
3.5X=13
X=13/3.5 ANSWER.
-3*13/3.5-1/4Y=10
-39/3.5-1/4Y=10
-1/4Y=10+39/3.5
-1/4Y=(35+39)/3.5
-1/4Y=74/3.5
Y=(74/3.5)(-4/1)
Y=-296/3.5 ANSWER.
