Question 693093: f (x)=x^3+11x^2-x-11 find all zeros of a function
how do you get the zeros from the function?
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! f(x) = x^3+11x^2-x-11 find all zeros of a function
-------
Since the coefficients of "f" add up to zero,
x = 1 is a zero of "f":
----
Use synthetic division to find the other zeroes:
1)....1....11....-1....-11
.......1....12....11...|..0
----
Quotient: x^2 + 12x + 11
----
Factor to find other zeroes:
(x+11)(x+1) = 0
x = -1 or x = -11
-----
So, the zeroes of "f" are x = 1, x = -1, x = -11
