Since each x value maps to one and ONLY ONE y value, this means that this given relation is indeed a function.

If we had x = 2 mapping to both y = 3 and y = 4 at the same time, then this wouldn't be a function (since this x value is mapping to more than one y value). But that's not the case here.

So again, this relation is a function.
