-3x+5+11=-11+11
-3x+16=0
or
-(-3x+16)=-(0)
3x-16=0
I don't know if you're allowed to have a - coefficient of x, so the last step may not be needed.

We need to simplify and take everything to the first term:
5-3x=-11
5-3x%2B11=0
16-3x=0
-3x%2B16=0
We now have an equation of the form ax+b=0, with a = -3 and b = 16.
