An even function is symmetric about the y-axis, and an odd function is not symetric.
First of all, f(x)=0 is even. any value of x, whether it is >0 or <0, will give the same result. It is symmetric about the y-axis.
Now let's plot the functions (y=f(x)):
f(x)=-x+2 is red
f(x)=|x| is green
f(x)=4x^94 is blue

From the graph you can see that
f(x)=|x| and f(x)=4x^94 are even,
