Find h(x)=(gof)(x)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
gof =g[f(x)]

This means to take the function for f(x) and plug it in to replace x the formula for g(x).

g(x) = 2x-5, while f(x)-sqrt%28x%2B1%29 (assuming I've interpreted your problem correctly!)

g[f(x)]= g[sqrt%28x%2B1%29]
=2%2Asqrt%28x%2B1%29-5

For additional help with this kind of problem, pleases see my own curriculum that I'm giving away FREE on my own website! To see this website, click on my tutor name "rapaljer" anywhere in algebra.com. Click on my website name that you will see there, and look on my Homepage for "Math in Living Color". Choose "College Algebra" and look in "Chapter 2" for "Section 2.08 Algebra of Function." These are my own explanations that are written especially for students who have trouble with math!

I hope you like my curriculum. I have other topics as well. When I was teaching, my own students were unanimous that my explanations were a LOT easier to understand than the traditional textbooks. If you like it, please recommend it to your family and friends who need help with math!! Like algebra.com, it's all FREE!!
