The domain of any function is the set of values for which the function is defined, or said another way, is the set of all numbers excluding any values for which the function is undefined. The domain of a radical function is all real numbers except those values that would make the expression under the radical less than zero.

Set the expression under the radical greater than or equal to zero. The domain of the original function is then the solution set interval of that inequality.
