in the hexagon are 6 equilateral triangles.
In each of the triangles the apothem is the altitude.
0.5*a*b=A
0.5*sqrt(3)*2=A (triangle)
A=sqrt(3) ft^2
A (hexagon)=6sqrt(3) ft^2
