You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.

The rate of change of the function f(x) = |x-3| over the interval [0,2] is THIS ratio

    The rate of change = %28f%282%29+-+f%280%29%29%2F%282-0%29 = %28f%282%29+-+f%280%29%29%2F2. (1)

So, I calculate f(2) = |2-3| = |-1| = 1 and f(0) = |0 -3| = |-3| = 3

and then substitute these values into the formula (1)

    The rate of change = (continuation) = %281+-+3%29%2F2 = -2%2F2 = -1. ANSWER

This part is done and completed.

I leave it to you to make similar work to find the rate of change of the given function over the other interval [4,5].

You may report me about your progress.

Is everything clear to you in my explanations ?
