To answer your question about why you got the wrong answer....

It appears you incorrectly evaluated

%28-7%29%2F%28-7%2B1%29

as -7%2F6 instead of the correct 7%2F6

That would give you the answer you got:

%28-7%2F6%29-1+=+%28-7%2F6%29-%286%2F6%29+=+%28-13%2F6%29
