Question 1071637: Explain how inverse functions can be used in measurement conversions and point out why it might be helpful to know the customary units if you are given metric units. Demonstrate how to convert the speed of light c = 3.0 × 10^8 meters per second to miles per hour.
Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! 3 x10^8 m/sec*60 sec/1 min*60 min/1 hour*1 km/1000m*0.6214 mi/1 km= units are mi/hr
That is 671,112,000 mi/hr.
If I use 186,282 mi/sec, I get 670,615,200 mi/hr.
