You can put this solution on YOUR website!
f(c-5). If f(x)=-2x-3
------
1st:: Thank you for helping your son.
------
Your problem::
f(x) = -2x-3 describes a pattern
x is the starting point
Multiplication by -2 is the 1st step in the process
Subtracting 3 is the final step.
-----
F(c-5) means you are to have
c-5 as the starting point
Then multiply c-5 by -2 to get -2c+10
Then Subtract 3 to get -2c+10-3 = -2c + 10 - 3 = -2c+7
------
What you are doing is putting c-5 in the place of "x".
f(c-5) = -2(c-5)-3
f(c-5) = -2c+10-3
f(c-5) = -2c+7
------------
Hope that helps.
Cheers,
Stan H.
