Question 990701: Find all numbers that are not in the domain of the function.then give the domain in set notation.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.
F(v) = %28v%5E2%2B12%29%2F%28v%5E2-3v-4%29.

The denominator is zero in the points  v=-1  and  v=4  (they are the roots of he quadratic polynomial in the denominator).

So,  the domain of the function is the entire number line except these points.

It is semi-infinite interval  (-infinity,-1)  plus the interval  (-1,4)  plus the semi-infinite interval  (4, infinity).
