that means you have to find out the value of the variable 'x' in the given equation.
x-5 = 2
For that retain the x term in one side and shift all the other terms( here we have only constat terms) to the other side.
For that add 5 to both sides of the equation, because here in the equation we have -5. ( if it is +5, we have to subtract 5 from both sides.)
==> x - 5 + 5 = 2 + 5
==> x = 7
Thus we got the value of x as 7.
To check your answer, put the value x = 7 in the given equation and see whether it satisfies the equation or not.
