You can put this solution on YOUR website!


Pick a number for x -- anything you like. Plug that number into your equation and do the arithmetic to calculate the value of y.

Then pick a larger number for x and do the same thing. If y got bigger when x got bigger, then the variation is direct. If y got smaller, the variation is inverse.
