It's all x values for which f(x) is defined.
f(x) is undefined when the denominator equals zero.
Solve x%5E2%2B5x%2B4=0
%28x%2B1%29%28x%2B4%29=0
Two solutions:x%2B1=0
x=-1
.

.
x%2B4=0
x=-4
.
.
.
The domain is therefore all x values except x=-1 and x=-4.
