Question 124870: Find f of each given value of x.
f(x)=3x-2
f(x)=3x2+4x-2 (the 2 after the first x is suppose to mean squared)
Could you please show me the process of completing this?
Here is what I have tried;
f(x)=3x-2
f(8)=3-8-2
f(8)=22

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Yes, that is exactly what you were supposed to do

f%28x%29=3x-2
f%288%29=3%288%29-2
f%288%29+=+22

Just substitute the given value for x wherever it occurs.

if f%28x%29=3x%5E2%2B4x-2, then f%288%29=3%288%29%5E2%2B4%288%29-2
f%288%29+=+192%2B32-2=222
