In order to generalize a result, you need to randomize your sampling.
Asking the first 30 is not random, it's convenient.
They may be the most diligent students who want to be first or they might be the ones closest to the auditorium.
It's unlikely that they'll be a random sampling of the student population so the results are likely to be biased.
