Question 801042:
Hello, I am trying to figure out this word problem for my Algebra I class. So far, I think I have figured out the following, but am not sure how to put it together into a formula that works.
monthly income =x
rent=.30x
food=.25(x-90)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
monthly income =x
rent=.30x
food=.25x
.25x = .30x - 90
add 90 to both sides of =
.25x +90 = .30x
subtract .25x from both sides of =
.05x = 90
x = $1800
monthly income is $1800
