The trouble I am having is understanding how the above becomes:
b) $1,392.926816 / 1.652029 = x

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You're having trouble with the distributive law.
In general the law is:
+a%2Ab+%2B+a%2Ac+%2B+a%2Ad+=+a%2A%28+b+%2B+c+%2B+d+%29+
On the right side, you are factoring out an +x+
from each of the terms:
+x+%2B+.652029x+=+x%2A%28+1+%2B+.652029+%29+
+x%2A%28+1+%2B+.652029+%29+=+1.652029x+
--------------------------------
So, now I have
+1392926816+=+1.652029x+
Divide both sides by +1.652029+
+x+=+1392926816+%2F+1.652029+
