.5%28x-4000%29%2F2000+=+.5%28x-8250%29%2F1500 | Cross Multiply to solve for x = 21000

   750(x-4000) = 1000(x-8250)

    1000*8250-750*4000 = 250x

               5250000 = 250x

                   21000 = x
