Note: The best way to remember is that Area = l*w is in units+%5E2
.
Rectangle 10in by 20in, Area would b 10in%2A20in+=+200in%5E2
.
Perimeter, on the other hand is a length: the length of the sum of its sides.

in our example:

P = 10in + 10in + 20in + 20in = 60in

Generally (to shorten it up) the Perimeter for a rectangle is written as:
P = 2*l + 2*w = the perimeter
