Question 280024: In order to make a profit, the total revenues must be at least equal to the total costs. Suppose the cost to make x units is C = 5x + 2000, and the revenue is given by R = 7x. How many units must be sold to break even?
Thank you very much for your help. I have no idea how to even begin this problem.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
In order to make a profit, the total revenues must be at least equal to the total costs. Suppose the cost to make x units is C = 5x + 2000, and the revenue is given by R = 7x. How many units must be sold to break even?

To break even Cost must equal Revenue so:
5x + 2000 = 7x
7x - 5x = 2000
2x = 2000
x = ?
