Question 202096: Need help double-checking: Express the following word problem algebraically and solve the following problem:
Joe must have a take home pay of $30,400 to live comfortably and pay all his bills. If the government gets 24% of Joe’s income, then what must Joe’s income be in order for him to live comfortably and pay all this bills.
(1 - 0.24) = 0.76x
x = 30,400/.76 = $40,000
This is what I have so far.. I need someone to double check it and let me know if my answer is correct. Thanks!

(1 - 0.24) = 0.76x
x = 30,400/.76 = $40,000
Proof:
40,000*0.76=30,400
Looks good to me.
