You can put this solution on YOUR website! Examine the rise in gasoline prices from 1997 to 2006. The price of regular unleaded gasoline in January 1997 was $1.26 and in January 2006 the price of regular unleaded gasoline was $2.31
You have two points: (97,1.26) and (106,2.31)
slope = (2.31-1.26)/(106-97) = 0.11666667
price rise = 11 2/3 cents per year
