You can put this solution on YOUR website! the cost to rent a car is 30 dollars a day plus 30 cents a mile.
his bill was 105 for 2 day rental.
take away 60 dollars for the 2 day to get 45 dollars at 30 cents a mile.
divide 45 by .30 to get 150 miles.
that should be your answer.
the formula is c = 30 * x + .30 * y
x is the number of days.
y is the number of miles.
when x = 2, the formula becomes:
c = 30 * 2 + .30 * y
simplify to get:
c = 60 + .30 * y
subtract 60 from both sides of the equation to get:
c - 60 = .30 * y
when c = 105, the formula becomes:
105 - 60 = .30 * y
simplify to get:
45 = .30 * y
divide both sides of the equation by .30 to get:
45/.30 = y
solve for y to get:
y = 150
From the total of $105, subtract the cost of rent for two days, which is 2*$30 = 60 dollars.
You will get $105 - 2*$30 = $105 - $60 = $45.
Then divide this difference by the rate of $0.30 per mile, and you will get
the number of miles = = = = 150 miles. ANSWER

Such problems are SO SIMPLE, that deserve to be solved IN ONE LINE.

No, I mean THEY MUST BE SOLVED IN ONE LINE.
