I don't know how you can get the right answer for the second question without having the right answer for the first....
(1) 5-day growth factor:
(2) 1-day growth factor:
5-day growth factor, to the (1/5) power.
(3) 7-day growth factor:
1-day growth factor, to the 7th power, or 5-day growth factor, to the (7/5) power.
Note your answer to the first question is reasonable, and close to the correct answer. Maybe you punched in the wrong numbers on your calculator?
Your answer to the third question is not reasonable. If it grows from 9 inches to about 15 inches in 5 days, a growth factor of about 1.6, it's not going to grow by a factor of 11 in 7 days. The answer should be something close to 2.
