(a) Chinese + Malays = 35%+25% = 60%; the remainder is 40%.

80% of the remainder = 80% of 40% = 32% are Indians. That means 20% of 40% = 8% are Eurasians.

(b) 35% of the total number of students, minus 8% of the total, equals 540:

.27x+=+540
x+=+540%2F.27+=+2000

The total enrollment is 2000.
