A normal distribution is associated with the 68-95-99.7 rule which states that 68% of the data is within 1 standard deviation of the mean, 95% of the data is within 2 standard deviations of the mean and 99.7% of the data is within 3 standard deviations of the mean

For this problem, we take 1 - 0.95 = 0.05 BUT we are interested only in the proportion above the mean so 0.05/2 = 0.025 gives us an approximate value for the answer
