Question 1100407: Can someone check is this correct and help me with last step. Thanks.
The total assets of bond mutual funds (in trillion) are approx. by f(x)=-2.38+1.478 ln x
where x=10 correspond to 2000.
a) what were total assets in 2002 and 2004?
b) find year which total will reach 2.5 trillion?
_________________________________________________
This is how I did:
x=10
2002 year ------> x=2
2004 --------> x=4
a) f(x)=-2.38+1.478 ln 2 =-1.35552846 ===> -1.356
f(x)=-2.38+1.478 ln 4 =-0.33105..===> -0.331
b) I don't know how to find year?
If x = 10 corresponds to 2000, then it is logical to suppose that
2002 corresponds to x= 12,
2004 corresponds to x= 14.
Am I right ?
