You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve the system by graphing both lines on one coordinate system. Show work and each point.
2x+y=3
x-3y=12
------------
They're 2 straight lines, so you need 2 points for each.
==============
2x+y=3
--> y = -2x + 3
Pick 2 values for x and find y.
eg,
x = 0, y = 3 ---> the point (0,3)
x = 2, y = -1 --> the point (2,-1)
==========
Plot the 2 points.
Draw a line thru them.
=======================================
Do the same for x-3y = 12
You might use x = 3y + 12 and pick values for y and find x.
Makes no difference.
Plot 2 points, and draw a line thru them.
===============================================
The solution to the system of 2 equations is the intersection of the 2 lines.
