You can put this solution on YOUR website!
We have a container that we will call C. This will represent it's full capacity, in Liters.
It is 2%2F3 full of water.
So the amount of water that we have right now is %282%2F3%29C.
Then we subtract 8 Liters from it...
%282%2F3%29C-8
This amount is equal to %282%2F7%29 of the full capacity of the container.
This leads us to...
%282%2F3%29C-8=%282%2F7%29C
Multiply both sides by a common denominator, which is 3*7 = 21
%2842C%2F3%29-168=%2842C%2F7%29 which reduces to...
14C-168=6C
Subtract 6C From both sides and add 168 to both sides...
8c=168 and finally
C=21
Make sure to check the answer!
%282%2F3%29%2A21-8=%282%2F7%2921?
The capacity of the container is 21 Liters
