You can put this solution on YOUR website! 1 x + -5 y = 2 .............1
-5 y = 2 + -1 x
/ -5 =
y = - 2/5 + 1/5 x
9 x + -15 y = -8 .....................2
Substitute y in (2)
9 x + -15 ( - 2/5 + 1/5 x ) = -8
9 x + 6 + -3 x = -8
9 x -3 x = -14
6 x = -14
/ 6
x= -2 1/3
Plug the value of x in (1)
1 x + -5 y = 2
1 * -2 1/3 + -5 y = 2
-2 1/3 + -5 y = 2
-5 y = 4 1/3
/ -5
y= - 7/8
