let us substitute x for y^(1/4) for now...we get
5x%5E2+%2B+x+-+22+=+0
Factoring we get
%285x+%2B+11%29%28x+-+2%29+=+0
which leads to
x = -11/5 and x = 2
Now back-subtitute and get
y^(1/4) = -11/5
y = (-11/5)^4
and
y^(1/4) = 2
y = 16
The second solution is best.
