: My question is:
Jo has 37 coins (all nickels, dimes, and quarters) worth $5.50. She has 4 more quarters than nickels. How many dimes does Jo have?
I am supposed to figure out how many dimes she has and I have to figure out my equations with a chart to help me. So far I have concluded that:
1.) Number of Coins x Value of coins = Total value ($5.50) is the equation
2.) Nickels-- .05N
3.) Dimes-- (37-N).10
4.) Quarters-- (4+N).25
This question is from textbook Algebra
You can put this solution on YOUR website! your expressions look OK except for the dimes ... you subtracted the nickels from the total but not the quarters
try Dimes-- (37-N-(N+4)).10
the three expressions summed together equal the total value
