You can put this solution on YOUR website!

I don't know how to "slove" anything, but I can help you "solve" this little 2X2 system.

Step 1: Multiply one or the other or both of the equations by a constant or constants such that the coefficient on one of the variables will be the additive inverse of the coefficient on the same variable in the other equation. Since you are starting out with a coefficient of -1 on in the first equation and a coefficient of 1 on in the second equation, you can skip this step.

Step 2: Add the two equations together term by term:

Step 3: Solve the resulting single variable equation for the remaining variable.

Step 4: Substitute the results of step 3 into either original equation and solve the resulting single variable equation for the other variable.

Step 5: Using the values of and determined above, form the ordered pair that comprises the single element of the solution set of the system of equations.
