This stands for Parenthesis, Exponent, Multiplication, Division, Addition, and Subtraction. ^.^ This is the special order that you should apply to all math problems. Let's begin! The first thing you might do is combine the terms in the parenthesis.  then becomes  , which can actually be written as  . We can skip the exponents, multiplication, and division steps since there aren't any of those. Next we add like terms to get  . This leaves us with one last step to get y by itself (I know. It's a bit out of order, but sometimes this happens when you finish the sequence. Use your logic to get the variable by itself =)).
