You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let's call each chicken's weight, A, B, and C.
1.A%2BB=10.6
2.B%2BC=8.5
3.A%2BC=6.1
From 1,
B=10.6-A
From 3,
C=6.1-A
Substitute those two values into eq. 2 and solve for A,
2.B%2BC=8.5
%2810.6-A%29%2B%286.1-A%29=8.5
16.7-2A=8.5
-2A=-8.2
highlight%28A=4.1%29
Now solve for B and C.
B=10.6-A
B=10.6-4.1
highlight%28B=6.5%29
.
.
.
C=6.1-4.1
highlight%28C=2.0%29
If all the chickens were weighed together,
A%2BB%2BC=4.1%2B6.5%2B2.0=13.6
they would weigh 13.6 kg.
