This algebraic expression is     4x + 4y.                         ANSWER

The same quantity in another form is     4(x+y).             Another  ANSWER


I don't know which one of these two forms is  " simplified ".   They both are quite simple.


        This instruction about  " simplified form "  really produces unnecessary pressure on a reader.

        May be,  the author means   (x+x+x+x) + (y+y+y+y)   as pre-simplified form ?
