Question 1097448: The annual revenue of Amazon.com rose from approximately $10.7 billion in 2006 to $34.2 billion in 2010.†
(a) Use this information to find both a linear model and an exponential model for Amazon.com's annual revenue I (in billions of dollars) as a function of time t in years since 2000. HINT [See Example 2.] (Round all coefficients to three significant digits.)
linear model I(t) =
exponential model I(t) =
Which of these models would you judge to be more appropriate to the data shown below?
t (Year since 2000) 6 7 8 9 10
I ($ billions) 10.7 14.8 19.2 24.5 34.2
The is more appropriate.
(b) Use the better of the two models from part (a) to predict the 2007 figure and compare it with the actual figure above. (Round your answer to one decimal place.)
The model yields an estimate of $
billion, which is not too far from the actual figure.

Question 1097446: A few weeks into the deadly SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) epidemic in 2003, the number of cases was increasing by about 4% each day.† On April 1, 2003, there were 1,804 cases. Find an exponential model that predicts the number of cases t days after April 1, 2003.
f(t) =
Use it to estimate the number of cases on April 29, 2003. (The actual reported number of cases was 5,462.)

Question 1097445: Soon after taking an aspirin, a patient has absorbed 300 mg of the drug. After 2 hours, only 75 mg remain. Find an exponential model for the amount of aspirin in the bloodstream after t hours. HINT [See Example 2.]
f(t) =
Use your model to find the amount of aspirin in the bloodstream after 6 hours.
f(t) =

Question 1100194: Im not understanding something to do with Exponential functions
Find the Exponential function f(x)=a^x whos grpah is given.
Graph points are (-2,4)
I did f(-2)=4
a^-2 =4
a^2=-4
and im stuck because now im getting a root of a negative, which this is not about imaginary numbers.

Question 1101424: The formula R=-0.075t+3.85 can be used to predict the world record in the 1500 meter run, the years after 1930. Determine the inequality that identifies the years in which the world record will be less than 3.7 minutes. Solve for t>□ (Round to the nearest whole number.) The years after 1930, in which the record is less than 3.7 minutes, are described by the solution set {Years|Years>□}.
