Question 890650: Eliminate negative exponents and rationalize the denominator in the final answer.
[(3x+5)^1/3 — x/(3x+5)^2/3] / (3x+5)^2/3
I have no idea where to start on this problem. I was trying to solve the subtraction problem in the numerator but the "x" is throwing me off. This problem has rational exponents and complex fractions; both of which I have forgotten how to handle.

Question 892993: I just recently started this unit and I am so confused. They said to evaluate the following and this is their answer:
8^5 x 4^2 / 2^16
= 2^15 x 2^4 / 2^16
= 2^3
= 8
My question is how did they derive at ^15 and ^4 and ^16. ? Your help is much appreciated. Thank you.

Question 894010: What I want to know is if there is a easier way to solve exponents. Lets say you have 16 to the 18th power. Do you have to sit there doing 16 x 16 x 16, etc, etc? Just wondering. Am I missing something or is this the only way?
