Question 199020: The greatest common monomial factor of 12x² and 8x³ is
1)96x to the 5th power
2)12x²
3)8x³
4)4x² Answer by AbyBavy(4) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! The answer is # 4. The way to figure this out is you find the Greatest Common Factor (GCF) with the numbers. They have 2 and 4 in common. Since 4 is the highest GCF you would factor the 4 out of the problem. You do the same for the X's. Since you have to the second power, and to the third power you would factor out the lowest power.
