Question 263081: Hi! I see a problem worked liked this:
8^2/3 = 8^1/3 * 8^1/3 = (8^1/3)^2 = 2^2 = 4
I don't understand how to they get from 8^2/3 to 8^1/3 * 8^1/3, from 8^1/3 * 8^1/3 to (8^1/3)^2, and from (8^1/3)^2 to 2^2. I put it this way because I don't understand how the process works of each step.

Question 263082: Z^m/n = z^m*1/n = (z^1/n)^m = (n/square root of z)^m.
What is the reasoning behind each step? I'm really not understanding how they get from one step to the next.

Question 211254: I am so confused by this.
Evaluate the exponential equation for three positive values of x, three negative values of x and x=0. Use the resulting ordered pairs to plot the graph. State the equation of the line asymptotic to the graph, if any.
y= -3^x
I think I would start with have y=f(x)=-3^
f(0)=-3^0=1
f(1)=-3^1=-3=1/3
f(2)=-3^2=9
f(3)=-3^3=-27=1/27
Before I go any further, am I on the right track?
