You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve for x:
2 1/5 (x) - 3/4 = -4 1/2 First, clear the fractions by multiplying through by 20 (the LCD) after changing the mixed numbers to improper fractions.
20%28%2811%2F5%29x+-+3%2F4%29+=+20%28-9%2F2%29 Simplify.
44x+-+15+=+-90 Add 15 to both sides.
44x+=+-+75 Finally, divide both sides by 44.
x+=+-75%2F44 or
x = -1 31/44
