Question 806080: I know the answer to this problem, however I do not understand how to complete each step, only the 1st one, by putting the entire problem under a 1 by using definition of negative exponent.
(2a to power of -2 times b to the power of 2 times z to the -10th power) all to the -5th power.
Thanks you, Melissa (sorry I don't have the fancy symbols)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let's see if I follow you.
+%28+1+%2F+%28+%282a%29%5E-2+%2A+b%5E2+%2A+z%5E%28-10%29+%29+%29%5E%28-5%29+
Hope I got it
A good way to look at this
is that it is the same as

Now I can use the fact that
+%28+a%2Ab%2Ac+%29%5Ed+=+a%5Ed+%2A+b%5Ed+%2A+c%5Ed+

Now reverse the signs of the inner exponents and
bring them up to the top

Now use the fact that
+%28+a%5Eb+%29%5Ec+=+a%5E%28b%2Ac%29+
+%282a%29%5E%28-10%29+%2A+b%5E%2810%29+%2A+z%5E%28-50%29+
That's it
