Question 708824: MPHc = .5(L)^.5 / (Hc)^.5 where L = 1000 and MPHc = 1.581
This is what I got so far
1.581 = .5(10,000)^.5 / (Hc^.5)
1.581 = 50/ (Hc^.5) not sure how to bring the ^.5 to the other side to solve for Hc

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You made either a copying or an arithmetic mistake.

Should say you this:
1.581 = .5(1000)^.5 / (Hc^.5)
and for site formatting allowance, that is to mean:
1.581+=+.5%281000%29%5E.5+%2F+%28Hc%5E.5%29

The reciprocals should also be equal, so
%28Hc%5E.5%29%2F%28.5%281000%29%5E.5%29=1%2F1.581
multiply both sides by .5*1000^.5
Hc%5E.5=%28.5%281000%29%5E.5%29%2F1.581
Hc%5E.5=.5%28100%29%2F1.581, because raising to .5 power means square root
...and then square both sides because shown is still Hc^.5 and you wish to finish solving for Hc.
Hc=%28.5%28100%29%2F1.581%29%5E2 from which you can finish the arithmetic computations.
