You can put this solution on YOUR website!

2x%2B3=x-5+...first, add -x to both sides
2x-x%2B3=x-x-5+...now eliminate x-x on right side
2x-x%2B3=cross%28x%29-cross%28x%29-5+
x%2B3=-5+.... add -3 to both sides
x%2B3-3=-5-3+.....now eliminate 3-3 on left side
x%2Bcross%283%29-cross%283%29=-5-3+
x=-5-3+
highlight%28x=-8%29+...your solution

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2x%2B3=x-5 Start with the given equation.

2x=x-5-3 Subtract 3 from both sides.

2x-x=-5-3 Subtract x from both sides.

x=-5-3 Combine like terms on the left side.

x=-8 Combine like terms on the right side.
