Hi, there--

The problem:
Multiply the two factors.
%28-6t-4v%29%28-7t-4v%29

A solution:
You cannot really solve this expression but you can simplify by multiplying the factors.

Use the distributive property for multiplication over addition. Notice that you are multiplying together two factors, (=You will end up clearing the multiplication and adding together four terms.

Multiply the first term in the first factor by each term in the second factor.
%28-6t%29%28-7t%29=42t%5E2
%28-6t%29%28-4v%29=24tv

Multiply the second term in the first factor by each term in the second factor.
%28-4v%29%28-7t%29+=28tv
%28-4v%29%28-4v%29+=16v%5E2

Add together each product.
42t%5E2%2B24tv%2B28tv%2B16v%5E2

Combine like terms.
42t%5E2%2B52tv%2B16v%5E2

That's it. Feel free to email if you have questions about this.
